For as far back as I have been able to trace my Fetterly line they were found residing in Herkimer County, New York. John Fetterly, the first ancestor, is believed to have been born in 1727. I will not give all the details here but do have much more information. John married Elizabeth Crouse and to them seven known children were
born. Their son Robert, b. ca 1770, is next in my line of ancestry.

Robert wed Hannah Rattenauer in 1793 and they were blessed with six known children. (known to me) They remained in Herkimer county as his family before him. Their son, Jacob, is next in my direct line.

Jacob, born Feb 10, 1805 married Margaret (Sisson I believe) b. June 15, 1805, sometime around 1824 as their first known child was born in 1826. They raised nine children to my knowledge, all of them being born right there in Herkimer county, in the Stark ~ Danube area. Their daugher, Mary Ann, married Abner Munk, March 18, 1855 in Fordsbush.

By the year 1868, the family was beginning to migrate to new locations. Jacob's son, Peter Fetterly had moved on to Illinois and his daughter, Mary Ann and her family were moving to the prairies of Nebraska. Jacob and Margaret, along with sons Nicholas and Harvey, moved on with Mary Ann and family to Nebraska. They all settled in Lancaster county, near a little township known as Bennet. There they are all buried.

My line continues through their daughter Mary Ann Fetterly and her husband Abner Munk. (see the Munk page for continuation of line)

I have a considerable amount of information on this family including names, dates, etc., and would love to have you contact me if you wonder if, or know that you are a part of this family tree.

Much of the data that I have pre-Mary Ann is thanks to the book by Ross Eckler, Three Pioneers of Stark.
